New Players and Player Registration for 2021 / 2022 Season

Our under 11 team is currently looking for new players. Ideally good players from primary school year 5 or exceptional players from year 4 who are able to play a year up.

The team will enter the Torbay Pioneer League under 11’s league. We will also enter all cup competitions and various summer football competitions in the region.

Friendly Matches

We will look to extend playing opportunities for the whole squad by playing several friendly matches against teams of an equal standard or above standard each season.

Training takes place every Wednesday 7pm to 8pm at South Devon Sports Centre 3G Pitch, Eight Acre Drive, Paignton, TQ4 7TP.

Occasional Inter Squad Trial Matches – approx. 6 inter squad matches per season to be played at the Devon FA 3G pitch so that we can let all squad players have a full game and try out new players / formations / tactics.

Optional Sunday Junior Park Runs – 2km run at 9am every week for those players keen to gain fitness when we do not have a game – optional.

Feel free to come along to one of our training sessions and see if it is right for you.

End of Season Presentation

As part of the wider Discoveries Devon Football Club presentation evening all players will be invited to our awards evening. Discoveries Devon FC are also running under 7, under 8, under 10 and under 17 teams for 2021.

Player Discipline

We want to create a winning team but also play within the spirit of the game when on the pitch with opposing players or referees. The team will adopt standards of behaviour on and off the pitch as set out by the FA and we will enforce these standards of fair play and respect.

Team Ethos and Parental Help

During games we ask all parents to keep negative comments away from the players and to fully support the team each week. Personal side-line coaching of your child is not permitted and disrupts the team. The managers will be focussed on creating a winning team and developing your child, but it must be enjoyable and fun for all the children and therefore parents who cannot support this positive atmosphere will be asked not to attend the games or leave the club.

Parental Help with Coaching / Volunteer Linesman / General Match Day Assisting

We are keen to find other footballing parents who want to commit and help us run the under 11 team in whatever capacity. Ideally, we would like to have a team of four to five parents who can help with weeknight training / Sunday football matches on either a part time basis or every weekend. Having more parental involvement on any level would benefit the children so please contact us if you are a parent who can help with the running of the team in any capacity.
